ArleeDesign was established in Katikati, New Zealand in 2012. The company's boat design operation is producing a wide range of craft, most of them based on the use of PVC foam.

After 10 succesful years working as senior designer / mechanical engineer and technical director for Derek Kelsall at Kelsall Catamarans we decided to start a new company where we can develop some of our design ideas. Derek's influence is still very much visible, from the choice of materials to engineering concepts (and I am still very much involved with Derek's projects!).

E X P E R I E N C E

We have over 20 years experience of mechanical engineering design and over 15 years in boat design - as an independent company or part of the design team of Kelsall Catamarans. We participated in the design of a wide range of craft - monohulls, catamarans, trimarans, houseboats - in composite, plywood or aluminium.

We can add years of experience in architecture, interior design, product design.

We have a large amount of experience using state-of-the-art CAD programs, including Rhino3D, Solid Edge, AutoCAD, a programming experience using languages like VBA, Lisp, C, C#, (Iron)Python, and good competence in using Finite Element Analysis. We prepare our own presentations and illustrations using GIMP, Flamingo3D, Blender. Like many other small companies, we designed in-house, implemented and maintain our company's website.
